On this page you’ll find all the mentions 23ji has gotten on popular websites, in print media, and in other miscellaneous places… as well as nifty things I’ve done that have gotten some attention. I am always up for interviews, reviews, and other things that will land my name and blog link in cool spots, so if you’ve got something you’d like me to do for you, please just ask!
Otakon 2009 Coverage

In July 2009, I appeared at Otakon in Baltimore, Maryland, as an ambassador for International Wota. My reports on all three days of the convention can be found here. Important things to note:
- My interview with Wakeshima Kanon, which was probably one of the most amazing experiences of my life
- My interview with BECCA, who was extremely friendly and down-to-earth
- MELL’s press conference, during which she called me “cutesy”!
Also, the image above does indeed show me standing beside BECCA. If I look like I just ran half a mile across the Baltimore convention center to get there, it’s because I did. And I missed my favorite Wakeshima Kanon song to get this picture (and, yeah, my interview, that too…)! But it was so worth it.
Also, Otakon has my coverage from the event linked on the Press “Links” page. Thanks, guys!
Gone but not forgotten: mentions of unchained in the media
unchained was a blog that ran for three and a half years–quite respectable–and actually managed to get some attention from places you wouldn’t expect! Here’s a little list:
- guardian.co.uk linked my review of noanowa’s SPECTACLE for their “New music on Wednesday” feature. Needless to say, this came as quite a surprise. I’m not sure why they couldn’t figure out the title of the album, but hey, whatever works!
- After I reviewed their debut US album, detroit7 (yes, the band’s official website) linked unchained on their News page. (As of February 2010, it’s still there–scroll down to the May 7th update.)
